5/16 Online Seminar: Pioneering the Future of Alternative Methods for Animal Experiments with Biotech Ventures & Researchers

2025/05/12
【5/16 オンラインセミナー聴講募集】バイオベンチャー&研究者と動物実験代替法の未来を拓く

 On Friday, May 16, 2025, Liberace will host the "Biotech Seminar - Alternatives to Animal Testing Pioneered by Biotech Ventures & Researchers".

 There is a growing trend to abolish animal testing in research and development, particularly in cosmetics and food companies. Under these circumstances, the development and use of model systems using human cells is attracting even more attention. The advantages of human models are not only that animal testing can be avoided, but they are also paving the way for a better understanding of human responses.

 In response, LIVERNESS will hold an online seminar inviting a venture company that has established an immune response evaluation model using human blood cells and a researcher who has established a co-culture model of skin and indigenous skin bacteria. This seminar is intended for companies interested in animal testing alternatives, especially those who are in the process of formulating strategies for their research laboratories. We also welcome the participation of companies interested in collaborating with venture companies and academia researchers through the development and utilization of such alternative animal testing technologies.

 This is an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the latest technological trends and future possibilities for animal substitution methods.

<Speakers

Mr. Kazuo Miyazaki
CEO and Representative Director, MyCan Technologies, Inc.
<プロフィール>
Graduated from Tokyo University of Science, Graduate School of Science. Specialized in synthetic organic chemistry and regenerative medicine. For about 20 years, he worked for a pharmaceutical company conducting exploratory research on small molecule compounds for vascular, renal, and central nervous system diseases, as well as small molecule compounds to complement regenerative medicine. His encounter with malaria, dengue fever, and other infectious diseases in India led him to establish MyCan Technologies, Inc. in 2016. The company aims to solve the challenges of infectious diseases with special blood cells using regenerative medicine technology.

Mr. Yuki Furuyama
Assistant Professor, Department of Life Science and Biological Sciences, Tokyo University of Science
<プロフィール>
D. in Applied Biological Science, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo University of Science in March 2021. D. (Science). He has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Life Science and Bioscience, Faculty of Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science since April of the same year. Specializes in bioorganic chemistry and applied microbiology. His research interests include the analysis of microbial interaction mechanisms and the development of microbial control methods using chemical biology methods. During his doctoral studies, he was engaged in research on phytopathogenic filamentous fungi. Currently, he is mainly working on dermal commensal microorganisms.

Hiroyuki Takahashi
