日本・東南アジアと欧州のディープテックエコシステムをつなぐTECH PLANTER WORLD in UK 2025、11月1日ロンドンで開催 〜日本発核融合ベンチャー・株式会社Helical Fusionが最優秀賞を受賞〜

On November 1, 2025, at IDEALondon in the City of London, England, organized by Leave a Nest United Kingdom Ltd.TECH PLANTER WORLD in UK 2025The "Municipalities" were held in the following locations.

Nine teams selected from Asia, Japan, and Europe took the stage as finalists. The Grand Prize went to Fusion Venture, a finalist from Japan,Helical Fusion Inc.(hereafter referred to as "Helical Fusion"). This is the first time a Japanese company has won the top prize in TECH PLANTER WORLD in the UK.

TECH PLANTERis an ecosystem for discovering and fostering deep tech ventures launched in Japan in 2014 by RIVERNESS Corporation with the concept of "solving unsolved issues with deep tech," a collection of science and technology. Ltd. launched in Japan in 2014 with the concept of "solving "deep issues" with "deep tech," a collection of science and technology. Since then, it has expanded its activities to six Southeast Asian countries, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and has developed into an ecosystem with a cumulative total of more than 6,000 venture and research teams.

Based on this trend, we launched TECH PLANTER WORLD in UK in London in March 2024 with the aim of connecting the ecosystem in the UK and Europe with startups in Japan and Southeast Asia to promote market development, technology collaboration, and joint business.

This year's event, the second of its kind, received 23 applications from a total of 10 countries (Japan, UK, Ireland, Malta, Singapore, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Philippines, and Australia), and nine companies from four countries including Japan were finalists.note 1
The jury consisted of nine representatives from various fields, including the UK's leading venture builders, government agencies, accelerators, and venture capitalists, who enthusiastically judged the competition, focusing on the uniqueness of the technology and its social impact.*2

The Grand Prize was awarded to Helical Fusion, a Japanese fusion venture company. The company is developing the Helix Program, a plan to commercialize the world's first commercial fusion reactor using Japan's unique helical fusion reactor, under the vision "Humanity evolves through nuclear fusion. In October 2025, as an important milestone toward the realization of a commercial fusion reactor, we succeeded for the first time in the world in demonstrating high-temperature superconducting coils using large conductors for a commercial fusion reactor under conditions that simulate the magnetic field environment in a fusion reactor. This is an achievement that has not been achieved even by major fusion companies in Europe and the United States. Based on this success, we will begin fabrication and construction of the final demonstration device "Helix HARUKA" and accelerate development with a view to commercial power generation in the 2030s.

Finalist presentation by Mr. Taguchi, President of Helical Fusion, Inc.

In addition, two other medium-sized companies from the Tokai area, Hase Torabo Corporation (Gifu Prefecture/Textiles and Spinning) and Yamada Shokai Holding Corporation (Aichi Prefecture/Construction and Engineering), who were also participants on the day, were also selected to receive two awards.

The Hasegora Spinning Award was presented to Evove Ltd. for its development of precision membrane filtration technology that utilizes 3D printing technology to achieve a uniform pore structure.
The Yamada Shokai Award was presented to Sention Technologies Ltd. from University College London for its acoustic imaging technology, which visualizes the state of electrochemical cells such as lithium-ion batteries nondestructively and without contact, and aims to improve battery quality, life, and safety. The award was presented to Sention Technologies Ltd.
