- Purpose
- At universities, research institutes, and corporate laboratories, the "seeds" of science and technology are being born, and it takes a lot of time and effort before they sprout into practical applications. The "TECH PLANTER" organized by Leave a Nest with its partner companies is an ecosystem that aims to discover these seeds and serve as a planter to turn them into businesses. TECH PLANTER World is aimed to nurture startups from all around the world and using this demo day to further connect to the rest of the world

After our closing the application window, a panel of judges consisting of Leave a Nest and its partners will review the applications.
Applicants will be asked to submit information about their team, technology, passion, and future vision via web form.
All applicants will be notified of the results of the screening process and will receive feedback on their applications.
In addition, online individual interviews will be held for those who wish to participate in the presentation review.

Announcement of finalists
Selected Finalists will be announced in the middle of March.
For applicants who pass the selection, interviews will be held to brush up their presentations for the final DEMO DAY.
In addition, it is possible to set up interviews with partner companies for the purpose of business consultation and to develop collaboration projects.

Supporting period
Even after the DEMO DAY, the contact point between teams and Leave a Nest remains open, allowing discussions to develop their business.
We are responding to a wide range of start-up issues, from incorporation to prototype development, financing, and R&D.
In addition, collaboration between teams and partner companies is becoming more popular in this period to support business development.

- UK Director for deep tech venture builder Leave a Nest. Founder of BLOOM.SPACE. Working in enterprise education and support since 2007. Scaled UCL Enterprise programmes across 16 countries in Europe and Africa. Created 20,000sqft of startup incubation space for UCL in King’s Cross. Coach and mentor on Beta Den tech accelerator and European Institute for Entrepreneurship programmes. Ex-biochemist at UCL. Strong knowledge of social enterprise and incubating smaller SME’s.

- Akitaka Wilhelm Fujii is Executive Director of UntroD Capital Japan and UntroD Capital Asia, where he plays a key role in scaling deep-tech ventures across regions. Previously at EIT Climate-KIC, Europe’s leading climate innovation initiative, he evaluated startups for funding and environmental impact and led engagement programs to strengthen sustainability within the EIT community.

- Dominic Falcao is the Founding Director of Deep Science Ventures. One of the early team members running Imperial College’s accelerator, working with over 1500 founders and 200 companies, with exits including to Spotify, Apple and Google. Founded DSV with Dr Mark Hammond, in order to create a dedicated, systematic environment for deep science venture creation.

- Born and raised in Chigasaki, Japan, he is now based in London. He began his career in 2008 as a producer at Dentsu Inc. In 2015, he became CEO of Uhuru Corporation’s overseas operations, leading initiatives from London. He worked with the European Institute of Innovation & Technology on a project in Scotland, promoting digital transformation in salmon farming. In 2020, he co-founded ARK, and by 2023, expanded into London’s hospitality scene, launching the premium sushi restaurant “SUSHI TONARI.” Outside of work, he enjoys bushcraft camping, Muay Thai, and free diving.
