Bringing Mindanao’s Innovators Together in Davao City: Introducing the Mindanao TECH PLANTER 2026 Co-Organizers

Leave a Nest Philippines is excited to announce that the Mindanao TECH PLANTER 2026 Demo Day will be held at the OLP Hall, University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), Bajada Campus in Davao City, on September 26, 2026 (Saturday).

For its second implementation, the University of the Immaculate Conception provides the Mindanao TECH PLANTER an ideal venue for researchers, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs from across Mindanao to showcase innovative technologies developed to address pressing social and regional challenges.

The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) has been fostering the minds of their students and researchers within and beyond the Davao Region for many years. Establishing themselves as a distinguished institution for consistently producing top scorers in the Medical Laboratory Science & Pharmacy board exams, and to being recognized by CHED as a Center of Excellence in Teacher Education, the UIC will now be joining as a partner in manufacturing global happiness with Leave a Nest Philippines.

Creating Connections Through TECH PLANTER

More than a venue for technology presentations, the Mindanao TECH PLANTER 2026 Demo Day aims to create meaningful connections among researchers, startups, universities, companies, and other organizations that share an interest in advancing science and technology in the region.

By holding the Demo Day at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), Bajada Campus, Davao City, Leave a Nest Philippines looks forward to gathering members of the Mindanao innovation ecosystem in one space where emerging technologies can be discussed, strengthened, and connected with potential collaborators. Such opportunities could only have been made possible with assistance from the Region XI Department of Science and Technology.

The involvement of the Depart of Science and Technology (DOST), Region XI, has been essential in bringing about the collaboration between the organizations and institutions. Through the mutual goals of developing the sciences and technologies within the island groups of Mindanao, DOST has largely contributed to making the 2nd implementation of the Mindanao TECH PLANTER a reality.

Through these interactions, TECH PLANTER continues its mission of supporting researchers and innovators in taking their technologies beyond research and toward applications that can create meaningful impact within their communities and beyond.

We extend our appreciation to the University of the Immaculate Conception for serving as the venue for this year’s Demo Day, and to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 11, for being the official co-organizers of Mindanao TECH PLANTER 2026.

As a closed-door event, attendance will be limited to official team members, judges, partners, and invited guests.

Organizations and institutions interested in supporting the development of Mindanao’s deep-tech ecosystem are also encouraged to explore opportunities to collaborate with Leave a Nest Philippines for the event.

We look forward to welcoming the finalist teams, judges, partners, and invited guests to Mindanao TECH PLANTER 2026.
