- The 5th Gunma Tech Grand Prix is an initiative to discover business seeds in the real tech field (manufacturing, robotics, mobility, IoT, artificial intelligence, materials, biotechnology, medicine, healthcare, food, agriculture, marine development, resources, environment, energy, etc.) from science and technology universities and companies aiming to start a second business based in Gunma Prefecture, and to discover and nurture teams with science and technology and passion to change the world from Gunma Prefecture by providing mentoring and consultation opportunities. The 5th Gunma Tech Plan Grand Prix will be held as an initiative to discover and nurture teams with science and technology and passion to change the world from Gunma Prefecture.

Briefing (~mid-May)
RIVANES Corporation will hold an information session for the entering teams (first-come, first-served basis, closing when capacity is reached). The teams will be able to consult with each other and develop business partnerships. Participation or not on the day will have no bearing on the screening process.

Kick-off event
RIVERNESS, partner companies, and entry teams (applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be closed when capacity is reached) will gather to exchange information and ideas. Participants will be able to consult with each other and develop business alliances.

Entry deadline
Documents will be reviewed based on the information submitted by the deadline. Applicants will be asked to submit information about their team, skills, passions, and future plans via web form and video. All applicants will be notified of the screening results and will receive feedback on their applications if they so desire.

Finalists determined
Interviews will be held for applicants who pass the document screening to brush up their presentation for the Grand Prix. In addition, interviews can be set up with partner companies for the purpose of business consultation and development of business alliances.

5th Gunma Tech Plan Grand Prix
Contestants will give a 7-minute presentation and participate in a 7-minute Q&A session with a panel of judges from major institutions and partner companies in Gunma Prefecture. The Grand Prix will be held in a semi-closed session and will be attended by contestants and partner companies as well as local businesses and universities. After the judging, an awards ceremony will be held.

- D., Pharmacist, founded LIVERNESS in 2002 with only undergraduate and graduate students of science and engineering while in graduate school. After completing the doctoral process, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Kitasato University, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, and a specially appointed associate professor at Keio University before assuming and concurrently serving as a professor of advanced pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Keio University in 2018. He is a researcher and manager involved in launching joint research projects with universities and research institutions and supporting the establishment of research institutes while conducting research and development.

In April 2025, he was appointed as General Manager of Corporate Consulting Department, Consulting Sales Division, where he remains to this day. After working at a branch office as a sales representative, he was transferred to the head office in Maebashi. In 2019, he was transferred to the General Affairs Department. He struggles daily with the wide range of work in general affairs, which considers the company as a whole, while feeling that he lacks the ability to do so.

- In 1995, he joined Tsuruta Shokuhin Kogyo (now Mannan Life Co., Ltd.). (now Mannan Life Co., Ltd.) in 1995. After working in manufacturing, production control, and purchasing, he became deputy general manager of the production department in 2007. He was involved in the construction of the new Soki Plant and became plant manager in 2012, and was appointed director of the Product Development Department in 2017 and director in 2019. He is working on new konnyaku innovations following the konjac jelly at Mannan Life, which is well known for its konnyaku field.

- After graduating from university and working as a journalist for NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), he worked for 11 years at a major bank, providing loans to medium to large-sized domestic companies and startup finance (both investment and financing).
Joined Mizuho Bank in October 2023, where he worked on growth support for startups and IPO support mainly in the middle and later stages in the IT and digital domains, robotics, and other fields.
