- Scientific and technological "seeds" are being created in universities, research institutes, and corporate laboratories, but it takes a lot of effort before they sprout into practical applications. The Tech Planter, organized by LIVERNESS and its partners, is an ecosystem that aims to discover these seeds and serve as a planter to help them sprout into business. The Marine Tech Grand Prix is a program aimed at discovering and fostering technological seeds and entrepreneurs in the real tech field (marine-related manufacturing, mobility, IoT, artificial intelligence, materials, energy, food, etc.).

You will be asked to submit information about your team, skills, passions, and vision for the future via web form and video.
All applicants will be notified of the screening results and provided with feedback on their applications.
In addition, individual interviews (also online) for presentation review will be conducted for those who wish to participate.

head judge General Manager, Manufacturing and Development Division, LIVERNESS Co.Takashi Okazaki
- D. in Science from the Graduate School of Science, Osaka University. After working as a special researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), he joined LEVANES Corporation in 2010. Based on his experience in research and development in the private sector and in science and technology promotion planning at an affiliated organization of local government, he promotes research seeds discovery, industry-academia collaboration, human resource development, and regional acceleration. He established the National Knowledge Manufacturing Conference to establish a new value chain, based on his strength of field orientation to visit factories of small and medium-sized enterprises and production sites such as aquaculture.

Asahi Yukizai Corporation New Business Development ProjectShota Takemoto
- After joining Asahi Yukizai Corporation in 2007, he was engaged in the development and improvement of plastic valves, mainly polyvinyl chloride resin with excellent chemical resistance. Utilizing his experience, he was transferred to a U.S. subsidiary to help set up the R&D department. After returning to Japan, he was in charge of M&A studies as a corporate planner, and is currently searching for research themes that will lead to new businesses and conducting multiple proof-of-concept studies at the New Business Development PJ.

- Born in Osaka in 1974. After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering, Kansai University, he conducted research on phase transformation at grain boundaries at the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University, where he received his Ph. After working as an assistant at Osaka University, an associate professor at Kansai University, and a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge, UK, he became a professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biotechnology, Kansai University in April 2017. He joined INOCA as CTO in June 2022. On weekends, he is an American football player.

- After joining Sanyo Chemical in 2002, he was mainly involved in the development of polymerization toner intermediates in the Research Division, and moved to the Sales Division in 2006, where he was involved in sales of polyols (raw materials for polyurethane) and thermoplastic polyurethane resin powder. In 2016, he was transferred to our subsidiary in the U.S., where he was involved not only in maintaining and expanding existing business, but also in developing new business and building partnerships with other companies, etc. He has been in his current position since August 2023. - During his university and graduate school years, he majored in architecture (design design). When he first joined the company, he was involved in condominium development and was in charge of product planning for Tokyo Tatemono's condominium brand "Brillia", pursuing the ideal way of living. Later, he was involved in a complex redevelopment project. Around the same time, Corona became popular, and he promoted several demonstration projects while considering the future of offices. This year, he was transferred to this department, where he launched and promoted a variety of projects aimed at regenerative urban development. His recent area of interest is "building a cyclical relationship between the community and the city.

- After joining Toho Gas in 2010, he is currently in charge of business development in new areas in Japan. Through a CVC fund he launched last year, he aims to create new value by combining the innovative technologies and business models of startups with our business infrastructure and customer business. We are also in charge of Japan's first onshore salmon aquaculture business utilizing the cold heat of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and are promoting the scale-up of this business. He is leading two different businesses, investment and aquaculture.
