Discovering and nurturing Deep Tech seedsand entrepreneurs in Vietnam
- Purpose
- At universities, research institutes, and corporate laboratories, the "seeds" of science and technology are being born, and it takes a lot of time and effort before they sprout into practical applications. The "TECH PLANTER" organized by Leave a Nest with its partner companies is an ecosystem that aims to discover these seeds and serve as a planter to turn them into businesses. Our program in VIETNAM aimed at discovering and nurturing Deep Tech seeds and entrepreneurs.
- Target

- Early stage startups and pre-startup researchers’ team or individual in Deep Tech Field
- Mature startups or SMEs seeking collaborators are also welcome, even if they are close to mass production or PMF establishment.
- Visionaries that aim to change the world and/or their own country to a better place based on the science and tech based seeds
- Those who are interested in the Japanese market or collaboration with Japanese corporations.

Application deadline & 1st selection
After our closing the application window, a panel of judges consisting of Leave a Nest and its partners will review the applications.
Applicants will be asked to submit information about their team, technology, passion, and future vision via web form.
All applicants will be notified of the results of the screening process and will receive feedback on their applications.
In addition, online individual interviews will be held for those who wish to participate in the presentation review.

Announcement of finalists
Selected Finalists will be announced in the middle of June.
For applicants who pass the selection, interviews will be held to brush up their presentations for the final DEMO DAY.
In addition, it is possible to set up interviews with partner companies for the purpose of business consultation and to develop collaboration projects.

Even after the DEMO DAY, the contact point between teams and Leave a Nest remains open, allowing discussions to develop their business..

Chief judge Representative Director, Leave a Nest CapitalDr. Shuichiro Takahashi
- Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi received a Ph.D. in Life Science from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo. He is a founding member of Leave a Nest and has been building a foundation for R&D projects as the core of Knowledge Manufacturing. He has initiated unique business models such as the “LNest Grant” which is a research grant system with private corporate partners, and has led numerous projects involving industry, academia, and the education sector. He has been the Representative Director and COO since 2010. He is also involved in investment in seed stage deep-tech startups as a Representative Director of Leave a Nest Capital. In addition, he is supporting a Japanese expansion project of a venture company from the Philippines.

- Mr. Le Hoang Phuong, the Program Manager at BSSC, is a highly skilled professional with a diverse background encompassing business advisory and sales representation. He has served as a Former Advisor to VBP and Meinan Vietnam, and as a Sales Representative for Unilever Vietnam, one of the country's most successful FMCG companies, which has equipped him with valuable insights into business development. His international experience further extends to his role as Deputy Sales Manager at Next Ads in Singapore and as Head of Business Development for the Automotive Division at Tan Thanh Do Group. This extensive and varied career path underscores his adaptability and proficiency in different industries and markets. Additionally, Mr. Le Hoang Phuong holds a Professional Certificate in Brokerage from the Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam. With his robust background in advisory, sales, and business development, he could tackle challenges and drive growth in diverse business environments.

Representative Director & CEO, Vantech Ltd.Mr. Tetsuya Inoguchi
- Recognizing excessive transport costs in dredging at water treatment sites, he founded Vantech to develop and deliver solid–liquid separation volume-reduction devices. After winning the Leave a Nest Award at the Shiga Tech Planter, he partnered with Leave a Nest to expand into Vietnam. In 2017, he conducted environmental surveys in Da Nang and Hoi An; in 2018, established Vantech Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City; and in 2019 launched joint sludge-treatment trials with An Giang Province. Since 2022, he has collaborated with local governments, universities, and startups to promote sustainable water-management solutions.
